Aromatisse (the Fragrance Pokémon) is a rare Fairy-type Pokémon found among grassy fields within the Kalos and Galar regions. While they might only be a few hairs faster than their pre-evolved form, Aromatisse are interesting creatures that can more than use the power of smell to win battles in an instant. For the few species of Pokémon without a good sense of smell, this beast shouldn't be much of a problem to deal with; for the rest, though, make sure to bring some nose plugs, lest you end up smelling something that is more than capable of knocking one out without them even touching you!

The members of the Spritzee and Swirlix families are unique among Fairy-types in that they are actually believed to be genetically related to some degree; this is most prominent in regards to their specialty powers in battle, as they are both designed to take advantage of smell, though in two completely different ways. In the case of the Spritzee family, their appearances are designed to resemble birds and they are biologically designed primarily to use smell to their advantage to survive in the wild. These creatures are able to give off strong aromas in and outside of battle in order to change the perceptions of its opponents and even other humans, eliciting either positive or negative reactions as the aroma changes depending upon their diet, using a special scent pouch contained within their bodies. Unlike the members of the Swirlix family, these beasts are generally special-attackers in most cases, as the only physical attack they can learn naturally is the Flail attack. This seems to work just fine for them, though, as their decent special offenses enable them to deal considerable damage with the few direct-damage moves they learn, particularly the Psychic and Moonblast attacks. Their special defenses are also quite good and they have plenty of HP to sustain damage; the only real problem is that both Spritzee and their evolve form, Aromatisse, are quite slow and do not have the best of dodging skills when in a heated confrontation. Regardless, though, the Pokémon under these two families are surprisingly friendly even in the wild and are quite easy to raise, making them the perfect addition to any team looking for a bit of Fairy-type power to save the day.

Spritzee are normally unable to actually evolve, but radical mutation can occur thanks to a held item known as the Sachet. The Sachet itself consists of a small pouch filled with a powdery mixture of material created from crushing over a dozen different types of plants native to the Kalos region into a powder that gives off an incredible aroma too strong for most people to handle. This material has no real value on its own aside from acting as an extremely potent perfume ingredient, but its powerful aroma is enough to excite Spritzee a great deal. The strong attraction between the two is cemented permanently if a Spritzee is traded while holding a Sachet, as the unique energy fields in a trading device will react with the beast's Fairy Force, fusing the powder into it physically and enabling it to evolve into Aromatisse. Instead of merely passively releasing scents from its body on a whim, Aromatisse have learned how to use this power as a weapon in battle, thanks in part to the thick fur that covers their bodies. This fur is in fact a super-durable microfactory that can convert chemicals the beast releases from its pores into a variety of vaporized chemical aromas that are dependent upon what compounds are released and in what concentrations, which ties into their capacity to learn the Aromatic Mist, Heal Pulse and Psych Up techniques after evolving. Aromatisse have become masters of this power in evolution and can generate just about any scent imaginable, which enables it in turn to manipulate the opposition as they wish, using pleasant, calming scents to quell their rage and battle fervor or releasing noxious smells to throw them off their game and make them sick to their stomach. Unfortunately for both other Pokémon and trainers, the intensity of these scents is always extremely high regardless of the situation, making them so overpowering that they can eventually make their partners lose their sense of smell, so only trainers that can learn to enjoy the natural body odor of these beasts will ever be able to handle raising them. Aside from use as a scare tactic and the source for their potential Hidden Ability, Aroma Veil, these creatures are more effective in battle than Spritzee at using their Fairy Force to manipulate the opposition with moves alone, learning techniques like Reflect, Psych Up, Heal Pulse and Aromatic Mist. As such, great caution is recommended in facing these beasts on a tactical level, as they are more than capable of swinging a battle in their favor when needed.

Though they certainly might not be the fastest things on two legs, Aromatisse are unique creatures that can really mess with one's sense of smell unlike any other. Getting one of these primp fairies will not be an easy chore for any trainer, but those willing to invest some time into doing so will likely not be disappointed. Just make sure to give your Pokémon plenty of room and care; otherwise, it won't be afraid to let out a few unpleasant, stomach-gagging aromas just to make its presence more apparent!

It seems like Slurpuff with its incredible smelling senses would have problems with Aromatisse's extremely intense smells. How quick could their sense of smell burn out, if Aromatisse can ruin a human's sense of smell over time?
