Combee (the Tiny Bee Pokémon) is a common Bug/Flying-type Pokémon found among grassy fields and forests within the Kanto, Johto, Sinnoh, Unova, Kalos, Galar, Hisui and Paldea regions. Though exceptionally weak and generally unsuited for combat, Combee are adorable creatures that love nothing more than gathering honey for those they care for and, most importantly, the Vespiquen that controls them. The males of this family might be nothing more than a waste of space, but for the few females around, life can be more than grand; after all, for every female, there is the potential for a new queen!
Combee are bizarre creatures that effectively consist of three separate, grub-like organisms that are connected together in a single unit by a series of honeycomb-like organic tubes sealed at both ends with elastic tissue that enables them to communicate with others through vibrations. Combee are unable to do much in battle aside from a emit a Sweet Scent technique and strike from afar with Gust and Struggle Bug attack and a Bug Bite attack up close; this doesn't matter much for these creatures, though, as their lifespan is extremely short anyways and they usually die about a month or two after they are initially born. Thankfully, Combee don't seem to mind this as it gives them plenty of time to serve the only real purpose they have: collecting honey. Combee work as drones for a single large Vespiquen, which acts as the queen of their colony or 'hive' and is responsible for producing more Combee; since only Vespiquen are able to do this under normal circumstances, they must be kept protected and well-fed in order to ensure the survival of the hive. Combee spend most of the day collecting pollen and nectar from flowers and mix it internally to produce honey; these creatures have actually grown so proficient at this task that they, along with the members of the Cutiefly family, are the only creatures known to normally have the Honey Gather Ability, which almost ensures that they end up with Honey somehow as long as they are not already in possession of an item (though the actual preferred flavor of honey is different between the three living units). When night falls and the air grows cooler, Combee will huddle together either outside or (more commonly) inside the confines of a small cave into a roughly hive-shaped lump, sometimes packing as much as a thousand members or more into a space only fit for maybe a couple hundred at best. This is usually done as a way of defending their otherwise frail bodies, as their limited offensive abilities make them poorly suited for combat on a one-on-one basis.
As with many other types of bees, wasps and similar creatures, only the female members of the Combee species are actually able to become queens; in stark contrast to these creatures, however, male Combee dominate the breeding population by an exceptional amount and females are generally few and far between. Considering how long Vespiquen tend to live, it is believed that this is so because it enables the hive to control the number of possible queens that a hive can produce at any given point in time, which works well considering most females don't make it to adulthood anyways. If a female Combee is getting close to the point of evolution, however, the Vespiquen in charge must decide whether or not to allow the fledgling to take control of the hive. In the vast majority of cases, the answer is no and the young creature is killed by the rest of the hive to prevent a possible skirmish from occurring; the only times a Vespiquen will gladly relinquish control of its hive is when it is deathly ill or otherwise approaching the end of its lifespan, which can last anywhere from three to about 30 years in length (an inordinately long lifespan for an insect). Tensions between Combee over this issue is rare, as these creatures effectively have a one-track mind with little personality to begin with and usually only care about the survival of the hive as a whole. It is duly noted, though, that when evolution does occur, the units comprising a female Combee actually merge into a single organism, in turn granting Vespiquen triple the amount of brain power as its cohorts and making it a surprisingly lethal force on any battlefield.
Though they might have little purpose in battle other than to look cute, Combee are fun-loving creatures that can keep young kids and beginning trainers entertained for at least a little while before moving onto something more dangerous. The males of the species might get nothing but flack for their inability to do anything at all with their short lives, but for these creatures, there simply isn't anything that can be done about it. Granted, Combee might be a bit faster than their evolved form, but that won't matter much in the end; fighting an entire swarm of these simple creatures is of little challenge to most experienced tarsiers, but fighting just one Vespiquen in another story altogether!

The Alpha Pokemon
Normal (Legendary)
Height: About 10 ft tall
Length: About 15 ft long
Weight: About 705 lbs
Sound: Now here's something curious. Whenever Arceus manifests out of a wormhole, it opens its mouth, and emits a sound wave that greatly distorts timespace around itself. To us, it sounds like a reverberating cosmic echo of sorts, distorting the air around it to the point where it can be heard clearly from miles away, and playing any frequency we can imagine at once. That is, that's the sound it makes if it's not speaking.
Arceus can speak to us, yes, but in a very strange manner. Its telepathic voice sounds to us li

"there we go, perfect nectar for building our honeycomb..."
She then saw something between the bushes near... It emitted a strong... Sweet smell...
"Must... Go ... To it!!!"
