Diancie (the Jewel Pokémon) is a legendary Rock/Fairy-type Pokémon found in deep caverns within the Kalos region. Sought after by collectors across the planet for its beautiful appearance and elegant form, Diancie are rare beasts that are almost never seen in the wild nor are understood very well in any context. Just make sure that you don’t accidentally get on their wrong side; these strange Fairy-types may be quite peaceful and playful, but the last thing you want to happen is to make them mad and end up on the receiving end of their Diamond Storm attack!

The way in which Diancie actually form is a great mystery and is still not understood by science in the least. From what can be told, Diancie are technically Carbink that have undergone some sort of radical mutation that turns them from simple constructs into advanced, intelligent creatures with the same overall abilities but a greater range of powers (including being able to speak telepathically and access to the Trick Room technique) and increased offensive abilities. The process in which Carbink turn into Diancie, however, is still poorly understood and it is unknown at this time what factors may be the culprit behind this radical change. Nonetheless, mutation into Diancie grants the Fairlite crystals that comprise much of their bodies to turn a bright pink hue and grow into perfect prisms that extend from all parts of their body; combined with the glow from their Fairy force, this makes Diancie shine a brilliant color and appear so elegant that many consider it to be the most beautiful Pokémon in the world, a title that goes well with its grace and poise. While Carbink are not exactly known for being highly intelligent, Diancie are quite intelligent in contrast and tend to have a very playful personality, having fun with friends all day regardless of who or what they are interacting with. Moreover, unlike Carbink, Diancie possess a strong enough Fairy Force that they can travel outside for long periods of time without worrying about solar energy disrupting their own energy; in fact, they can actually absorb sunlight and then radiate it outward, causing its body to glow brightly even in daylight and enhancing its appearances even more so than normal. In terms of combat abilities, Diancie share pretty much the same stats with Carbink with the exception of their base Attack and Special Attack stats, which are double of that possessed by Carbink. This incredible power comes as a result of greater control over their Fairy Force powers, so much in fact that Diancie can manipulate the air surrounding them and press it into the palms of its hand to create tiny diamonds; it can them either give these diamonds as gifts (though this can be a problem if the Diancie in question is inexperienced, as the unstable Fairlite made by inexperienced Diancie tends to dissipate shortly after it is formed if not enough energy is infused to make it stable) or use them to attack in a deadly Diamond Storm attack, a surprisingly powerful move that only Diancie have access to. Overall, Diancie are still extremely mysterious creatures whose biology and mere existence is a puzzle, but it cannot be denied that their cute charm and surprising powers can easily win over the most skeptic of trainers once they’ve seen them in action.

It is noted that Diancie is one of only 46 species of Pokémon known to be capable of undergoing Mega Evolution. When in possession of a held Diancite, Mega Evolution triggers a bizarre reaction within these creatures that causes the Fairlite crystals that comprise their upper bodies to expand considerably, blasting off all of the hard rock and impurities that surround the lower half of their bodies and exposing a brilliant display of crystals that cover these beasts as if they were merely parts in an elegant dress. In this form, the Fairlite crystals shine brilliantly and intensify light so much as it passes through them that they become blinding in direct sunlight, giving off a monstrous shine that makes it impossible to look directly at them. Moreover, the already large diamond-like Fairlite crystal that adorns their heads increase in size, turning into massive gem that weighs over 2,000 carats. Mega Diancie have a certain grace about them that make them feel and act more regal than in their normal form, and while this can make them slightly harder to control, it is usually only a minor issue that few trainers will have to worry about, though any trainer owning one of these creatures is a miracle by itself. In terms of stats, removing the durable, protective impurities that once coated their bodies limits Mega Diancie’s ability to defend against severe attacks to the point of making them less effective at guarding than even normal Carbink, critically decreasing their base Defense and Special Defense stats. On the other hand, however, this change duly increases their ability to focus and harness Fairy Force energy in their bodies and thus enables them to strike more quickly and with much more power than normal, cataclysmically increasing their base Attack, Special Attack and Speed stats; this in turn grants them the highest base Special Attack stat and base stat total (tied with Mega Tyranitar) out of all Rock-type Pokémon and the highest base Attack stat and base stat total out of all Fairy-type Pokémon. In addition, the unique properties of the Fairlite comprising the bodies of Mega Diancie allows for the constant generation of an energetic force-field that protects Mega Diancie from the effects of non-damaging moves and even reflects them back at their user, granting them the Magic Bounce Ability and in turn making it very difficult to defeat these creatures unless tremendous speed and great power are on one’s side (and even then it might not be enough to subdue them before they can launch a devastating counterattack).

Diancie tend to remain out of public view as a result of their rarity, but it is worth mentioning that at least one of these creatures has more than made its presence known as a result of its contribution in the Diamond Kingdom Incident in the Kalos region. A Diancie known to be the princess of a place called the Diamond Kingdom was called upon by her Carbink subjects to recreate a legendary object known as the Heart Diamond, a giant piece of Fairlite that had the ability to energize all of the Pokémon that lived within this underground kingdom and effectively served to keep it together, supplying large pillar-like Fairlite growths that kept the deep cavern from collapsing with stabilizing energy. However, at the time of this incident, the gem was beginning to lose the final bits of power left in it, and the Diancie that served as royalty was the only Pokémon capable of creating a new one…but the beast was still quite young and did not have the power needed to perfectly create a new Heart Diamond that was stable enough to exist in solid form. To solve this, the Diancie and her closest advisors traveled out into the open world in search of Xerneas, whose Fairy Aura Ability could potentially energize Diancie and enable her to create a stable Heart Diamond. In doing so, she ran into both a group of young kids that decided to help her in her journey and a number of professional thieves looking to do little aside from steal the Diancie and use it to create diamonds to fund their criminal operations. Eventually, however, after travelling into the Allearth Forest, which no human had entered in perhaps centuries, the children and Diancie found Xerneas (having recently awoken from a thousand-year slumber), who stated that Diancie had the power to complete her task even without her assistance. Unfortunately, the meeting was brief as the thieves, in their haste to steal Diancie, accidentally awakened Yveltal from a slumber that it had been in since the last time it had been active, during which it almost completely destroyed the Allearth Forest. The beast took to the skies and started to destroy everything in its path, using its Oblivion Wing attack to steal the life energy of everything around it and petrifying all that it touched in turn. Thankfully, Diancie, with the help and care of her friends, managed to find the courage to help her friends and, in doing so, accidentally activated a Mega Stone that it had unintentionally created beforehand out of happiness from meeting and making new friends. This allowed it to Mega Evolve into Mega Diancie and it then proceeded to create a Heart Diamond that was able to fully block Yveltal’s attack, giving Xerneas enough time to ward off Yveltal and calm its rage. Xerneas then went on to sacrifice itself to heal the damage that beast had done, turning into a tree in the process to start the cycle of creation and destruction all over again. In the end, Diancie was able to create a new Heart Diamond and restored her kingdom to prosperity once again, finally becoming the true guardian of the kingdom that her subjects needed and in turn bringing peace to the region once more.

Though the chances of seeing one of these legendary beasts are extremely low, it cannot be emphasized enough that these rare creatures are truly magnificent organisms that should be respected and adored for their elegant appearances and surprising powers. With the highest base Defense stat out of all Fairy-type Pokémon (tied with Carbink) and the devastating Diamond Storm attack on their side, it comes as no surprise that Diancie are tenacious creatures that can more than prove themselves in battle when it comes to protecting those they care about. Trainers lucky enough to interact with these fairies should consider themselves lucky, but don’t get too greedy; Diancie might be able to make gorgeous diamonds out of thin air with no problem, but unless you find one that is also experienced and confident in its power, your get-rich pipe dream may only end up lasting a few moments before dissolving right before your eyes in a cloud of pink dust!

About those thieves who were after Diancie at Allearth Forest. I know they turned over a new leaf, but they still have to be punished for their crimes.

Millis Steel deserves the worst punishment because of her treachery. She tricked those kids into thinking she's on their side, only to back-stab them after Diancie was able to create diamonds.

I never show mercy to traitors!
