Faldera Volcano is a huge volcanic structure that effectively dominates Faldera Island to the point where the entire island is covered by it. This structure is extremely volatile and is constantly pumping out large volumes of lava, but thankfully it has not seriously erupted in some time and is not due for a major eruption anytime soon. This inhospitable environment is mostly dominated by Fire-type Pokémon, but it is also home to many species that are otherwise able to tolerate the extreme heat and make a living in the flanks of this superheated natural wonder. Aside from being the home of powerful Pokémon, it is said that this is also the home of the legendary bird Moltres, and during the attack on the region from the Pokémon Pinchers, it was awakened from a long slumber to create a powerful barrier shield for the Sky Fortress, though it was eventually freed from this control with the help of Ho-Oh and the removal of a piece of the Golden Armor from its lair. Rangers that are looking to challenge their skill will find more than a match in this bird, but another word of caution is given for the deeper reaches of the volcano, for not only are they almost too hot to bear, but they are also said to house a legendary beast that will more than likely incinerate lesser opponents if they can’t beat the heat it is capable of putting out.
