Gardevoir (the Embrace Pokémon) is a rare Psychic/Fairy-type Pokémon found among grassy fields and many other environments within the Hoenn, Sinnoh, Kalos, Hisui, Paldea and Kitakami regions as well as the Johto, Unova, Alola and Galar regions on rare occasions. Elegantly beautiful in appearance and surprisingly powerful in battle, Gardevoir are wondrous creatures that can more than prove to be a difficult opponent to tackle in battle. They might not be as highly-receptive to emotions as their pre-evolved forms, but for Gardevoir, that's probably the best; the last thing that any trainer needs is a Pokémon capable of generating a black hole that's also emotionally unstable!

For the Ralts family, evolution into either Gardevoir or Gallade is a major point in their life, as it is akin to a child's full development into adulthood in that they obtain a tremendous boost in overall strength and finally become a force to be reckoned with on any battlefield. Evolution into Gardevoir results in the full development of these creatures' psychic powers and a considerable change in their personality. The advanced extrasensory organs that once adorned these creatures' heads have been moved to their chest area, in turn isolating their ability to sense emotions from their minds and allowing them to maintain a stable emotional state at all times. Moreover, these creatures undergo mental maturity to the point where they leave the innocence of their youth completely behind and gain access to a more mature suite of powers, including the Healing Wish, Misty Terrain, Mystical Fire and Moonblast moves, in addition to possessing developed-enough Fairy-type powers to learn the potent Dazzling Gleam attack immediately after evolving. Their natural psychic abilities further become amplified beyond the capabilities of many other Psychic-types to the point where they can freely levitate off the ground without ever having to touch it again, which is probably for the best as their legs are somewhat frail and easily hurt. Overall, Gardevoir are exceptionally powerful creatures that can more than devastate weaker opponents without exerting much effort at all and are considered to be among the best of their type.

Gardevoir are extremely protective of their trainers (likely the result of their emotion-sensing organs being so close to their heart, or at least in a metaphorical sense) and will gladly do whatever it takes to protect them regardless of the cost, even if it means sacrificing their own life as their power peaks in these moments of selfless protection; while this can often prove to be a boon to trainers when fighting against wild Pokémon, this can also make it very difficult for said trainers to form strong relationships with other Pokémon, as Gardevoir tend to be a bit clingy. This is particularly troublesome for certain trainers that prefer to live in the moment, as Gardevoir are much more efficient than Kirlia at looking at the past and future and are able to predict future events much more accurately. Interestingly enough, these creatures show such strong devotion to their trainers that, if the life of their owner becomes beyond endangered, Gardevoir will do something so devastating that the effects can be felt for miles and miles away: they will generate a black hole. This is done by expending all of their psychic energy in a single burst to create a massive disturbance in the space around them such that a point in space-time becomes compressed enough to become a singularity and thus the short-lived heart of a black hole. This is more than enough time, however, to completely obliterate any nearby offenders before the space resets itself and the black hole dissipates. Unfortunately, in the vast majority of cases, this tremendous drain of psychic energy is simply too much for Gardevoir to handle and they pass away soon after, making the entire event both miraculous and absolutely devastating to their trainer and thus something that trainers should do their best to avoid if at all possible.

In addition, Gardevoir is one of only 46 species of Pokémon known to be capable of undergoing Mega Evolution. When in possession of a Gardevoirite, Mega Evolution enables these creatures to turn the intense emotional energies within them outward, in turn fully displaying their complete power in battle. The extrasensory organ that is normally attached to the torso of a Gardevoir splays outward in this unleashing of power, transforming into a powerful energy conduit that is said to be a physical manifestation of their hearts. Complementing this is an increase in the size of the dress-like organic sheet that covers their lower torso and legs and minor modifications to their ears and fur color, granting them an elegant appearance that is said to be the true incarnation of Fairy-type beauty. In terms of stats, this ability to fully utilize both psychic powers and internal emotions together without affecting concentration has the effect of moderately increasing Mega Gardevoir's base Attack, Defense and Special Defense stats and critically increasing their base Special Attack stat; in turn, they gain the highest base Special Defense stat out of all non-legendary Psychic-type Pokémon as well as the highest base Special Attack stat and non-legendary base stat total out of all Fairy-type Pokémon. In addition, the combination of their emotional energy and their natural Fairy-type powers grants these creatures an extremely powerful Fairy Force, so powerful in fact that it overrides all of their otherwise type-less attacks and therefore grants them the Pixilate Ability. These gorgeous beasts still might not be able to take much in the way of damage from physical attacks in battle, but unless the opposition can manage to outrun them, there is little to nothing that most trainers can do to survive the otherwise perfect, devastating attacks that these beauties are capable of wielding in their Mega Evolved form.

Lastly, it is important to note that, perhaps as a result of their protective natures and their exceptional beauty, Gardevoir are considered to be the most common victims within the Pokémon world of bestiality. Although they exist as both males and females, the human mind is well-known for distorting the truth and assigning gender roles to whatever it may see, and as it would seem, the overwhelming feminine features of Gardevoir have made them a prime target among desperate and perhaps psychotic humans. The surgical manipulation of Pokémon in general is banned in most countries throughout the world, but that has not stopped many humans in the modern day from 'adjusting' the physical attributes of their Gardevoir for their own sick pleasure. This issue has been debated back and forth among activists for many years now, but because the subject is extremely sensitive and is usually kept quiet because of the temperaments it flares up, there have been no successful movements against the practice to have it completely banned globally. Nonetheless, this is a touchy enough subject that humans caught in the crime are often persecuted as sex offenders and their abused Gardevoir are taken to animal shelters, where their 'modifications' are removed as best as they can be and they put up for adoption by more sane individuals.

Though they might be somewhat frail-looking and too kind to be a threat, Gardevoir are powerful beasts that can more than give it their all against even the strongest of opponents. With a surprisingly high capacity to utilize and resist damage from special attacks and more than enough and enough psychic power to distort the fabric of space-time to the point of no return, it can certainly be said that anyone patient enough to put up with the weakness of Ralts and Kirlia will not be disappointed with the results. Just make sure that you keep the relationship with your Gardevoir as professional as possible and avoid letting their clingy nature get to you; a friendship is fine enough, but letting it go anywhere else is could result in more complications in a trainer’s life than what might be ordinarily appreciated!

Ever seen a Shiny Mega Gardevoir? Its black dress makes it more fitting for a funeral than a ball.
