Mt. Silver is among the most dangerous places for trainers to go to as a result of its isolation and the effect it has had on the local Pokémon community. Serving as the main source of water for Fresh Water items, this place has undergone the same natural evolution seen in the Cerulean Cave, where the Pokémon here have become dominantly fighters as a result of only having themselves to battle against, leading most of them to be of a high experience level and extremely powerful in practically every way. Here, trainers that have proven themselves worthy by obtaining all 16 Indigo League Badges can come and test their skill in battle against some of the best Pokémon the Johto region can offer. In addition, it is interesting to note that this place has also recently become the home of a local Moltres, which sits patiently by itself in the middle of a dead end in the caverns. More importantly, it is stated by some that at the very peak of Mt. Silver, Red remains in the perpetual coldness of the mountain and waits patiently for trainers to come and challenge him in battle; this is not something to be taken lightly seeing how powerful Red is, so anyone that can even manage to fight him to a draw can effectively consider themselves to be among the best even if it doesn't really seem like a win.
