Pawniard (the Sharp Blade Pokémon) is a relatively uncommon Dark/Steel-type Pokémon found near grassy, mountainous environments within the Unova, Kalos, Alola, Galar, Paldea and Kitakami regions. Deceptively wicked and violent to a fault, Pawniard are dangerous critters that easily drive home the 'point' that size isn't everything in battle. They might seem cute from afar, but you definitely do not want to go anywhere near these wee beasties in a fight, as they won't think twice about sinking their arms into the opposition even if it means killing them in the process!
Both Pawniard and Bisharp are highly unique in that their entire external frame is comprised of thick, plated armor and blades. Although their insides are as soft as most other creatures, few life forms are capable of penetrating their thick armor in combat; this is because it's mostly comprised of titanium, a metal that is in short supply in the world of organic steel. Besides being heavily resistant to cracking, bending and warping, this armored body gives Pawniard and Bisharp surprising resistance against physical attacks (surprising because their bodies are exceptionally lightweight and allow them to move around at relatively high speeds). The blades comprising their bodies are all around them: their head, arms, feet, and even their torso. The blades that are particularly noteworthy are the two sets of blades that extend from the torsos of both species. As amazing as it may seem, these two sets of blades are directly connected to two pairs of ribs, making intense damage to them life-threatening; one would wonder why then these creatures would choose to anchor blades internally despite the risk of injury. The real reason behind these blades, however, is quite obvious: they are defensive checks against body blows. Because their torsos are the only parts of their bodies not normally covered by an obvious blade of some sort, Pawniard and Bisharp are vulnerable to counterattack in that area; the addition of metal blades in their ribs, although risky, helps ensure that opponents will think twice about tackling them head-on, lest they risk having the blades driven into them.
In a word, Pawniard are ruthless. These little beasts, although quite small, are incredibly vicious and will gladly attack larger foes with little concern for their own safety, sinking their bladed arms and even their body blades when desperate into soft flesh and armor like a hot knife through butter. Pawniard are exceptionally cruel and will not think twice about ending their opponent's life, especially if they become extremely agitated or are insulted; this has made them quite hard to deal with and are thus generally avoided by most trainers. Worse yet, Pawniard are quite keen about keeping their bodies prepared for battle constantly, as any serious chips could damage their bodies permanently and potentially prove to be fatal; as such, if their blades dull in battle, they will sharpen them on river stones immediately after combat ends, with each individual Pawniard having a favorite sharpening stone. In truth, the only saving grace of Pawniard is that they are extremely loyal to their leaders despite their general society being completely based off of honor and revenge. Pawniard travel in medium-sized packs and always follow the orders of an adult Bisharp, even if it means putting their own lives in danger. When it comes time to strike at an enemy, they will do so without remorse and under the complete orders of their leader, only stopping at times to clang their blades together in glee before tearing their victim to shreds. They follow a Bisharp leader for all but one day out of the year, which usually occurs within the late summer; on this day, a contest is held among all members of the group, including Bisharp, to determine who will continue to lead the group for the following year. These contests do little physical harm to any member, as their hard bodies prevent anything more than surface scratches from sticking; the contest is simply designed to determine when the leading Bisharp has become too old to properly fight in battle. If any Pawniard manages to achieve the dream of every single Pawniard and defeats the Bisharp commander in battle, that Pawniard instantly evolves into a Bisharp and becomes the new leader, while the old one is allowed to live out the rest of its days in 'retirement'. Furthermore, Pawniard are extremely keen on delivering retribution for past attacks, even if it be only a minor scuffle; if even a single member is attacked (on purpose or by accident), the entire pack will mobilize and, if their leader feels it is a worthwhile cause, completely devastate the attacker and any nearby friends. In such cases of revenge, it is not unusual to find the victims reduced to bone and meat fragments; if the offense is particularly grave, however, the corpse will be relatively intact (though a bit cut up), but the corpse will have a gaping hole where its heart would be, formed from the commanding Bisharp's finishing blow.
Wickedly violent and vicious to a fault, Pawniard are powerful critters that can easily hold their own against even the strongest of opponents, stabbing them repeatedly until they either faint or die from blood loss. Unless you can handle these little monsters and their dangerous combat tactics, stay away from them as much as you possibly can. These monsters are a threat to both opponents and trainers alike, and they will not discriminate between targets; get on their bad side, and you can guarantee that you'll have them slicing through all of your sides in no time!

Lampent's Lament
A child's laughter echoed through the grassy clearing. It was late afternoon in the Pokepark, with the light just beginning to fade as he sun dropped behind the surrounding ring of trees. Giggling, a young girl played in a corner away from the others, her trusted pokemon beside her as always.
The small white creature looked like a candle, as if it were made of wax, with one pale drop slightly obscuring its right eye. The eye in question was colored a strong yellow, matching its twin. To complete the mimic

"Pawniard" huh? Were the scientists playing Chess when trying to come up with the name of this Pokémon?
