Purrloin (the Devious Pokémon) is a relatively common Dark-type Pokémon found among grassy fields and cities within the Unova, Kalos and Galar regions and most of the United States. Deceptively cute but wicked in their intentions, Purrloin are thieving felines that enjoy nothing more than stealing the belongings of others and getting away with their crime. These critters are certainly more annoying than they are powerful, but don't think that makes them less of a threat; get in their way, and you'll end up receiving one heck of a nasty Scratch attack to your face!

Although Purrloin are capable of delivering nasty Scratch and Night Slash attacks in battle, most people tend to keep these Pokémon as pets instead of actual combatants. This is mainly because Purrloin are easily housebroken and essentially act like normal cats when placed within a household setting, not counting their stable capacity for bipedalism; this in stark contrast to most other feline Pokémon, which either act more or less independently (such as Meowth, Glameow or Skitty) than normal cats. As such, there is relatively little to say about Purrloin in terms of behavior and lifestyle that cannot be explained by simply observing a housecat. It should be noted, however, that Purrloin are less likely to be entertained by simple toys and knickknacks, so owners will have to be creative to keep them happy.

The only trait (aside from their combat abilities) that truly sets Purrloin apart from normal cats is their tendency to steal things from people for fun. While many felines are naturally attracted to shiny objects, Purloin are simply attracted to objects that don't belong to them; other characteristics seem to matter little in terms of importance. It appears that the act of stealing an object and then staring at the shocked expressions of others triggers a tremendous release of endorphins within the brains of Purrloin, giving them an unmatchable feeling of excitement and joy. Unfortunately, their antics are rarely enjoyed by the owners of the pilfered objects, who often come very close to delivering painful blows to the small creatures, especially if they are hit by both their stinging claws; Purrloin rarely ever have to worry about punishment, however, because their cute appearances are usually more than enough to soften the heart of any attacker, even if their cries of laughter prove to be just as stinging to one's pride as their claws can be. This only gives them an excuse to continue their unruly behavior, though, leading into a never-ending cycle of thievery and forgiveness that can easily get out of hand that rivals that of Pokémon like Nickit in the Galar region. Trainers and regular people who possess Purrloin often get used to these antics within the first few weeks of ownership, but the annoying toll that they can take is nonetheless noticeable.

Despite their thieving natures, Purrloin are fun creatures that can make great companions for early trainers if they can put up with their antics. Easily trained and always eager to have a little fun, Purrloin truly are one of the few Pokémon known that are great to be around both outside and inside for people of all types. Just be careful not to battle with them a whole lot if you want them to stay as they are; once they evolve, these cute little critters won't think twice about delivering a vicious Night Slash attack to you if their dinner is late!

How can a Purrloin stand and walk on its hind legs?

I thought it was a quadrupedal Pokémon.
