Sewaddle (the Sewing Pokémon) is a common Bug/Grass-type Pokémon found among forests within the Unova and Kitakami regions as well as the Hoenn and Alola regions on rare occasions. Though seemingly harmless in comparison to contemporaries like Venipede, Sewaddle are interesting creatures that can play a decent defensive game where other Bug-types usually fall flat. Of course, if you're just looking for someone to help you stitch up old clothes, you should end up being equally pleased…that is, if you don't mind wearing clothes that are more than a little organic!
The members of the Sewaddle family are unique among both Bug and Grass-types in that they actually make clothes for one another to wear. This strange behavior was once thought to be a response to harsh environmental conditions or even protection against predators, but it now seems more likely that these 'clothes', which are always made from chewed leaves sown together with sticky thread, are designed to help these creatures retain body heat during the night. While Leavanny generally take the responsibility of creating each of their young's original set of clothes, Sewaddle are quick to learn how to make their own clothing and become almost completely independent of their parents within the first few days of their lives; not surprisingly, this has also made them popular mascots for tailors and clothing designers across the region. Once these creatures gain full mastery over their sewing skills, they will quickly evolve into Swadloon and remain in that state for the rest of their lives unless they reach a level of happiness that facilitates evolution.
Sewaddle are rather simple creatures that spend most of their lives simply sifting through leaves on the forest floor and eating ones that suit their tastes. While Sewaddle are able to sense motion with their eyes up to 100 yards away, they have extremely poor depth perception; to rectify this issue, Sewaddle utilize two small sensory organs on the tops of their heads to locate nearby objects and creatures through the chemical odors they release, often times rubbing them up against the sensory organs on other Swaddle when they first meet. When night falls, these creatures use the leafy headpiece of their clothes as a protective shield, covering their faces with it; while this does little to physically protect them from harm, the disguise alone is strong enough for Sewaddle to sleep among leaf piles without being disturbed in most cases. While Sewaddle are capable of creating new sets of clothes, the production of their refined, durable silk takes up a lot of valuable energy and is thus only produced in emergency situations. Such situations will in turn only arise if their current set of clothes is damaged or destroyed, usually due to damage from Fire-type attacks or because a Sewaddle actually ate its clothes (which they will only do when food is scarce).
Despite not being true heavy-hitters, Sewaddle are decent fighters that can utilize their powerful Razor Leaf and Bug Bite attacks to deal damage to a wide variety of unarmored opponents, making them perfect for beginning trainers. Though it might take some effort to make them into anything but defensive fighters, it can certainly be said that these critters can pull more than a few tricks to mess with the opposition. Besides, how could one traveling in a thorny forest pass up the opportunity of owning a creature that can make free silk on the go!?

Ah, this pokemon. A certain trainer from Unova has one when we first met, and it really surprised me how strong her Sewaddle is. It's slow, but it's really tough physical wise. It even packs quite a punch with Razor Leaf and bug bite, and she told me she just caught it!
Remind me not to underestimate small bug types...
