Snubbull (the Fairy Pokémon) is a relatively rare Fairy-type Pokémon found among grassy fields and some cold environments within the Kanto, Johto, Kalos and Alola regions and the Blueberry Academy Terarium, as well as the Hoenn, Sinnoh and Unova regions on rare occasions. While relatively small in size and more affectionate than they might initially seem, Snubbull are powerful beasts that can certainly take a chunk out of anything foolish enough to underestimate them. Of course, this probably won't be much of an issue to begin with, as most opponents their size won't even want to approach them…not that their owners won't enjoy cuddling up with them!

Snubbull and their evolved form, Granbull, are somewhat related to bulldogs and strongly share an otherwise fierce look that often belittles how kind they really are. Snubbull generally only use their frightening faces in a Scary Face technique to scare off smaller creatures in the wild; this is done not really for the sake of survival but more for the sake of keeping up a reputation of ferociousness, alongside a growl that makes its opponents feel uneasy, as these creatures are unable to put up much of a fight against creatures larger than themselves. In truth, though, this actually makes Snubbull quite sad because they are really timid and caring creatures that wouldn't even hurt a fly if they were in a bad mood, preferring instead to remain laid-back and sleep half of the day, and are often avoided by young Pokémon due to the disparity between the look of their faces and their actions. In fact, when playing with other puppy Pokémon, they are in fact the ones that occasionally tend to get bullied by others. Humans have managed to understand this inner psyche and associated mannerisms quite well and have taken quite a liking to it, resulting in many trainers (particularly female ones) being attracted to how cute their Snubbull is; this might also be due to the fact that their odd choice of fur color leaves them looking like they are wearing some sort of polka-dot dress. Snubbull are often popular among rich people, as their tenacious nature makes them great guard dogs and fun pets to play with, in turn making them the perfect, easily-spoiled family pet to have in many cases. Snubbull seem to appreciate this pampered lifestyle to some extent, but their wild instincts will lead them to break outside every once in a while, leading to some chaos if they manage to get into an altercation with another Pokémon.

Despite their relatively small size, Snubbull are powerful creatures that can use their large fangs to deal some major damage with attacks like Bite and, after evolution, Crunch. Interesting enough, Snubbull are also fairly unique in that they are one of the few if not the only species of Pokémon capable of utilizing the Ice Fang, Thunder Fang and Fire Fang attacks straight from birth, whereas in most cases a family much reach a specific evolutionary state before this becomes an option. This can make Snubbull surprisingly dangerous in close quarters, especially considering their physical strength is enough to make younger opponents beg for mercy. However, Snubbull, are still cowardly creatures at heart and will generally try to avoid an actual fight if possible, running away at an impressive speed if their intimidating appearance is not enough to quell a target. This trait will only become worse once they manage to evolve, but if their courage can be built up from a young age, these dogs can easily be made into decent fighters in no time.

While they might not get much in the way of attack variety as they develop, Snubbull are still fun-loving creatures that can certainly make a good partner for beginning trainers looking to train without having to leave the comforts of their home. It's unlikely that they will have the courage needed to dominate larger opponents, but with a bit of training and determination, these otherwise timid animals can be made into worthwhile fighters for any battle. Just do yourself a favor and try to get their dental services completed as quickly as possible before they manage to evolve; otherwise, any attempts to take care of their teeth will go from dangerous to potentially lethal in a heartbeat!

"Who the heck is that Pokémon!?"

That what I said when I first saw Snubbull in Pikachu's Vacation.
