Treecko (the Wood Gecko Pokémon) is an exceptionally rare Grass-type Pokémon found among forested areas within the Hoenn region, portions of South American jungles, the Blueberry Academy Terarium and the Alola region on rare occasions. Agile and stubborn to a fault, Treecko are unrelenting fighters that will give their trainers everything they've got right from the get-go and even against the most intimidating of foes in battle. They might not have much to offer in the way of sheer power, but this is nonetheless one species that you'll have a hard time beating psychologically; no matter how hot a battle gets, these little critters always know how to be cool!
Treecko are similar to actual geckos in that they have the ability to climb sheer vertical surfaces and even hang on ceilings. They can do this because the soles of their feet are covered by countless numbers of tiny spikes that slice into surfaces and stick there like the cleats on athletic shoes. This ability has led Treecko to nest up at the tops of trees, far from where predators can reach them; this has in turn led them to be ferociously protective of their nests and very protective of the trees around them, as spare homes are always needed when a single fire or lightning bolt can destroy your current abode. Many people have come to refer to Treecko as protectors of forested lands and often leave forests alone and in their care (as long as there are Treecko actually present in the given area), though this can sometimes create issues with logging companies. Thankfully, there are several portions of the Hoenn region that have been deemed refuges for the species, so their already limited numbers can at least stay relatively stable without fear of human destruction.
A Treecko's primary means of offense is its large tail, which is actually a huge seed casing for a parasitic plant. This is where a significant issue of zoological classification occurs because, much like with the Bulbasaur family, Treecko become more and more integrated with this parasitic plant (present at birth) as they evolve and grow older. In their current state, the plant is still encased in a huge seed, which is attached to Treecko at a flexible joint near the back of their pelvis. This casing is both incredibly durable and incredibly hard, making it the perfect weapon for delivering powerful Pound attacks; in fact, Treecko rarely ever use anything but their Pound attack in the wild as it usually does the job on its own. This is uniquely different from Bulbasaur because the base Special Attack of Treecko is higher than their base Attack stat; henceforth, their manipulation of the parasitic plant is in opposition of their stronger offensive stat and can thus prove to be an issue in some cases, though it does assist them in allowing them to tell the ambient temperature in the surrounding area. Despite the presence of this plant, Treecko are extremely calm-minded and cool in manner; in truth, almost nothing is capable of making a Treecko seriously panic. Even against opponents far larger than themselves, Treecko possess unwavering bravery; if an opponent glares at them, they will glare right back without conceding an inch of ground regardless of the size difference and will gladly fight them with every bit of strength they have.
While they might not be incredibly powerful in terms of sheer offense, Treecko are nonetheless dangerous opponents for early trainers to face. With considerable agility on their side and a penchant for delivering nasty Pound attacks above all other courses of action, Treecko are great Grass-type Pokémon that can take on any opponent without panicking in the slightest. If you are Grass-type enthusiast who needs a little bit of speed added to your team, consider picking up this little tree-climber as soon as possible; just try not to get too comfortable with their limited special attacks, as they will lose most of them once evolution sets in anyways!

So, despite the parasitic seed of a tail, Treecko keep a cool head and never waver against any opponent.
And just now, I'm thinking of when Ash's Treecko kept on Pounding at its own risk...
