Bewear (the Strong Arm Pokémon) is an exceptionally rare Normal/Fighting-type Pokémon found among grassy fields and forests within the Alola and Galar regions. Though they might seem cuddly and friendly to some, Bewear are incredibly dangerous creatures that can easily prove to be a terrifying force in and out of battle if allowed to get too close. They might not mind being around others as much as Stufful, but you would be a fool to think that makes them any safer; allow them to show a sign of affection without proper training, and it may likely end up as the very last hug you ever receive!

While Stufful are recognized to be quite powerful in their own right, their strength is dwarfed by the immense and devastating power possessed by their evolved form, Bewear. Bewear possess incredibly dense muscles that allow them to swing their arms with the might of a wrecking ball, snapping trees in two with a single careless swing. This power is only made more terrifying by the fact that these creatures exert almost no effort at all in their attacks, instead simply flailing their limbs around wildly and snapping anything and everything that gets in their way. This power may be the evolutionary result of predators not taking them as a serious threat from appearance alone, but this idea makes little sense when one considers the fact that Bewear do not possess any natural predators at all, nor does it seems that they ever did. As a result, their incredible strength might just be the consequence of a natural increase in power in evolution from their already incredibly-strong pre-evolved form. Regardless, this allows these creatures to deliver devastating physical blows in battle that would make a martial-arts specialist jealous and dominate the competition from sheer power alone, which is only made more intimidating by the fact that they have an unusually high base HP stat and can therefore take a great deal of punishment before fainting in battle. Thankfully, these creatures are relatively intelligent and follow commands readily when battling alongside a trainer that they trust, so at the very least their immense power can be put forth in battle with little consequence of direct backlash. Even so, wild Bewear are looked upon by many as the most dangerous Pokémon in the Alola region and the habitats that they roam in are marked off with signs and considered to be completely off-access to all humans, simply for the sake of safety. An encounter with one can be made safe as long as one does not try to engage them in a threatening manner, but it is still advised that one runs far away if they spot one and it starts to wave its hands wildly, as it is a gesture of intimidation and a warning to leave immediately, lest one suffer horrific consequences at their hands.

Unfortunately for trainers that do manage to get ahold of one of these beasts, even if they might not be a danger from an aggressive standpoint, they tend to be an even more serious problem from an affection standpoint. Unlike Stufful, these fluffy beasts do not mind being hugged, and in fact will often hug their friends and allies when they are feeling really good or excited and know they can trust someone as a friend. The problem with this is that Bewear by nature do not know how to control their full power, and as a result their hugs tend to snap and crush the spines of their friends and allies, often times resulting in their untimely death. While this makes the Bind attack they learn immediately after evolving (again, taken as more of a hug by these creatures than an intentional attack in most cases) incredibly powerful, it equally makes them inherently dangerous to try and form a bond with. This often times saddens these beasts so much that they will leave a trainer and/or their Pokémon and run away afterwards, going on a rampage that can level entire forests before they can be pacified. Even approaching them while they are in a good mood must be done cautiously, as even if they don’t try and hug others, their joyfully-flailing limbs can crush others in a single blow, making for a swift and violent end; furthermore, even if they don't deal fatal damage, they will often take subdued 'friends' back to their nests, tucked under their arms, to care for them against their will for some time. Thankfully, these intelligent beasts can be reasoned with and trained to hold back much of their power when engaging in acts of affection, allowing for a soft, snuggly hug that can be incredibly calming and relaxing to take part in, though they still might lose control if they are suddenly startled.

Powerful far beyond their appearances and incredibly brutal to take on in close quarters, Bewear are imposing figures that can easily decimate anyone that dares to belittle them based on their cute looks. Trying to control these beasts might be an incredibly daunting task for any typical trainer, but the sheer power they have can nonetheless make them a serious force worth fearing in battle. If you are looking for a good partner that can easily trick the opposition into going easy on it, you won’t find much of a better candidate than these herculean bears; just try not play any games of hide-and-go-seek with them, as while getting hugged from behind might be a bad enough consequence, the widespread destruction they may wreak in trying to find you might have greater repercussions in the short-term than your own death!

My Bewear never seems to change her blank expression.
She had more expressions when she was a Stufful, but now I can't even tell if she's happy, sad, or angry
