Incineroar (the Heel Pokémon) is an exceptionally rare Fire/Dark-type Pokémon found in fields and urban environments within the Alola region and the Blueberry Academy Terarium. Malicious in battle and more than willing to use a cheap trick or two to win, Incineroar are devastating felines that can more than make mincemeat out of anything that dares to get in their way. They may hide a softer spot in the inside for those that look up to them, but don’t expect them to always be nice to those they care about; fail to keep a tight leash on them, and these animals will gladly use their strength to flip the position of who the master is and who the pet is!

Evolution robs these creatures of a significant amount of Speed, but in return their offenses and especially their defenses are increased significantly as a result of the mass of muscle that now covers their humanoid frame. Like Torracat, these creatures possess a flame sac that is attached to their body externally, and in this case it resembles a belt that the beasts wear around their waist. As the fighting spirit of these beasts increases, the flames that they normally produce sputter and burst from the sac hanging at their navel region intensely, shot from it in a brilliant display of power when used with moves like Flamethrower. Not surprisingly, this sac is referred to as a “flame belt” due to its resemblance to a wrestling championship belt, and it would not be abnormal to even see one of these beasts in the ring. Instead of just relying on their Fire-type powers and claws to attack, these brutish cats will use fierce punching and kicking attacks to beat down and ravage their opponents before finishing them off with their flame belt, often times taking great pleasure in beating their target senseless. Their movements have actually been the inspiration for some wrestling moves and techniques, and they in particular possess two special moves that only they are capable of learning naturally under normal circumstances; both of them tie into their new Dark-type powers, which are believed to at least be a partial reflection of their malicious fighting style and lack of remorse for most opponents. The first attack, which they learn immediately after evolving, is the Darkest Lariat attack, which involves these beasts charging their entire bodies with negative energy before spinning on their feet with both arms and massive paws outstretched, slamming into the target with incredible force and knocking them flat onto the ground; aside from dealing a considerable amount of damage, the manner in which the attack is executed allows Incineroar to use this move to deal damage with no regards paid to changes in the stats of the target, making it a perfect move for breaking through opponents that have tried to raise their defensive stats to protect themselves from harm. The attack can even be used as the base for Incineroar’s signature Z-Move, the Malicious Moonsault, which is capable of dealing immense Dark-type damage to any opponent that gets caught in it. The other move, which is usually banned from friendly fights because of the danger it poses to other Pokémon, is the infamous Throat Chop attack, which involves Incineroar charging negative energy into a single arm and delivering a chop straight to the throat of its opponent; not only does this deal significant damage to the target, but it also makes it impossible for them to speak for a while, preventing them from using any sound-based moves for approximately two more combat ‘turns’.

Needless to say, Incineroar are incredibly hard for many trainers to handle and more than demonstrate the heelish behavior that they are named after in battle. These beasts naturally have a violent and selfish disposition, and if they don’t feel like fighting, they will egotistically ignore their trainers with complete nonchalance; if pushed, they may even take upon themselves to beat the living tar out of their own trainers if they find them to be too annoying. Despite this, however, Incineroar have often been seen to be highly affected by how onlookers view them in battle, for if the crowd watching them battle is pumped up, Incineroar’s fighting spirit will burn even brighter than normal and their attacks will become more powerful; on the other hand, if the crowd is bored or otherwise lackluster, it can make these creatures perform badly, feeling that they are no longer of any importance to others. Furthermore, if these beasts receive signs of admiration from young Pokémon and children, while they might do their best to keep up a cold attitude on the outside, on the inside and in their very heart, these beasts become immensely happy and will do what they can to make their performance in combat something worth further admiration. They will even lose the desire to fight if they are put up against a weak or injured Pokémon, finding such a beat-down boring, and while this can be taken advantage of to get the drop on them, Incineroar rarely take this well and will fight with greater motivation against stronger opponents until the opposition that tricked them can no longer fight at all in retaliation, dead or alive.

Though they might appear to be incredibly dangerous and not worth the risk of personal safety to raise, Incineroar are still softies at heart and fight for the betterment of both their image and for those that look up to them and respect them for their combat skills over their attitude. Trainers will likely have some trouble handling these cats at first because of their nature, but with a little bit of hard work and trust-building, these creatures can do wonders when given the lead position on any trainer’s team. If you insist on bringing them to professional wrestling matches, though, do your best to try and keep them in their capture device; otherwise, if the match isn’t going so well, they might decide to enter themselves into the fight and give their human counterparts more than a run for their money!

i've only run into two of these during my time in alola. one was in a fun little fight with this trials... manager? it's been a while so i kinda forgot what they're called. and the other.... oof the other. it was brutalizing this trainer to the point where i had to get him to a medical office. lucky this was one of those times were bringing 2 water pokemon on vacation was a good idea. found out later it was his, and that they infamously fight. the doctor even claimed that he swares he's going to get himself killed before he realized he was sharing private info.
