Leafeon (the Verdant Pokémon) is an exceptionally rare Grass-type Pokémon found among grassy plains and forests within the Unova, Kalos, Alola, Galar, Hisui and Paldea regions as well as the Hoenn and Sinnoh regions on rare occasions. The direct result of Eevee mutating in the presence of certain odors, Leafeon are sturdy creatures that live generally passive lives alone in forested areas and use photosynthesis to produce some if not most of their food in peace. If you anger one of these critters, though, don't expect them to take it lying down; they might be passive-aggressive, but if you dare to anger one of these elegant beasts, you'll likely find yourself cut down in no time!
In this evolution, Eevee that are trained sufficiently enough while in the presence of certain odors, or that are otherwise exposed to the radiant energy of a Leaf Stone, mutate tremendously and transform into plant/animal hybrids (becoming more relatively plant than animal) capable of utilizing photosynthesis to produce energy, additionally gaining access to the Leafage and Razor Leaf attacks immediately after evolving. Interestingly enough, the odors in question are released by a select few species of moss, all of which are quite rare in any part of the world. These types of moss prefer to climb to rocks above all other materials because of the impermeability of the surface towards moisture and water in general; as such, they often form large colonies around fairly large boulders deep in forests where clean rivers flow, where they can get the nutrition they need to survive and live quiet lives away from potential predators. The aroma given off by the moss has a unique chemical within it that seemingly stimulates the cells of Eevee and prepares them for mutation; if enough energy is in turn delivered to their cells, Eevee will spontaneously mutate on the spot. This method of evolution is still relatively misunderstood, and attempts at replicating the delicate compound responsible for the mutation have failed so far; as such, the only hope of obtaining a Leafeon is by finding one of these special mosses in nature, or by using a Leaf Stone to mutate them directly.
Upon evolving, Leafeon grow chloroplasts within their cells, which gives them the ability to utilize photosynthesis for energy; much as with some normal plants, this means that Leafeon are constantly enveloped within a pocket of pure oxygen as it is a primary byproduct of the process. In some cases, Leafeon may resort to eating freshly-fallen leaves in order to garner some energy, but this will only be done if the air is too polluted to breathe in. This is also an action that is committed by older specimens more so than younger ones as they require more energy to run basic life-sustaining operations. As such, while younger Leafeon smell like freshly-cut grass, older specimens tend to give of an aroma closer to that of the freshly-fallen leaves they more regularly dine upon; both are popular for perfume in places like the Galar region. Since they do not have to hunt regularly in order to sustain themselves, Leafeon spend most of their time sleeping in places where the sun shines brightly; in turn, this means that they are quite passive by nature and prefer not to fight at all. If provoked considerably or if their friends and allies are put in danger, however, Leafeon will savagely fight back with their razor-sharp tails (which have essentially become leaves through mutation) and will viciously use attacks such as Razor Leaf and Leaf Blade to cut down all that dare to oppose them, striking with enough force to cut large trees in half like they were wielding high-quality swords. This is further enhanced by their ability to learn the Swords Dance technique and a fairly armored hide that can hold up surprisingly well against physical attacks. The only real problem that Leafeon have is an inability to defend themselves very well against special attacks, as they gain no advancements in Special Defense upon evolving from Eevee. Even so, Leafeon are sturdy enough fighters that they can take the brunt of most assaults fairly well while still dishing out impressive damage, making them perfect for any Grass-type specialist looking to add some physical offense and defense to their team.
Though they might not like fighting much and prefer to stay away from conflict, Leafeon are powerful fighters that can cut most foes to ribbons if pressed into combat. With an impressive resistance to physical attacks and access to more plant-based powers than nearly any other type of mammal, it goes without saying that Leafeon are powerful beasts more than capable of putting most Ground, Rock and Water-type Pokémon in their place. Just make sure that you keep a close eye on them when outside of battle; they might be mainly plants, but that certainly isn't going to stop them from simply wandering into a forest looking for freshly fallen grub!

The village of Kesgea burned under the starlit sky of night. Screams of terrified Pokémon fleeing their collapsing houses could be heard everywhere. Once beautiful thatched roofs were now aflame and billowing smoke into the air, turning it acrid. Stone walls, only shortly ago housing dozens of happy families inside — many of which were cuddled up together in their living rooms watching TV, getting set for bed soon — crumbled and fell one after another, bringing the structures down from homes to a pile

But why listen out for THAT? After all, in the event that you encounter

Eevee could've evolved into Leafeon WAY before Diamond and Pearl since the Leaf Stone existed since the beginning.
