Musharna (the Drowsing Pokémon) is a rare Psychic-type Pokémon found among grassy fields within the Unova and Galar regions and possibly the Hoenn region. Though seemingly defenseless and harmless in battle, Musharna are potent creatures that can easily utilize the power of their Dream Mist to put the opposition to sleep before striking with their powerful psychic attacks. They might not be very fast, but that should be the least of your worries when facing one of these odd critters in battle; besides, if you really don't like dreaming to begin with, you probably aren't going to feel very safe after you've seen these animals literally bring dreams to life!

Like the members of the Drowzee family, Munna and Musharna are rumored to be distantly related to the legendary beast Baku, though certainly much more distantly than the Drowzee family. As such, these creatures are well-noted for their ability to devour dreams and often use the psychic energy contained within them in the place of traditional food. However, Munna and Musharna are noticeably different from their overseas contemporaries in that they generally do not rely on hypnotism to forcefully place others into a state of sleep or to make them more cooperative. Instead, these creatures simply wait until night falls before appearing near the pillows of sleeping organisms and gathering their dreams, the patterns of their bodies giving off a faint glow as they do so. Since both of these creatures are constantly being levitated by their own intense psychic power, they can move around quite stealthily even in the dead of night and are quite gifted at extracting dreams without causing too much noise in the process. Although victims of these beasts' Dream Eater attack never exactly remember their dreams the following morning (as with the Drowzee family), their Dream Eater attack is a bit more refined than that used by Drowzee and Hypno and thus causes less overall damage to the receiver of the attack (which is both a benefit and a cost in battle); this has made the creatures a bit of a god-send to many, as they are kind-hearted enough to remove the nightmares of sleeping life forms because they do not easily become sickened by bad dreams, unlike the members of the Drowzee family. It can even be determined what type of dream they are feeding on, as the smoke that comes from their form as they feed will be pink if it is a good dream and black if they are feeding on a nightmare. More importantly, though, Munna and Musharna are much more careful about how they take dreams and can efficiently detoxify bad dreams so they are safe for consumption, an ability unfortunately not shared by Drowzee and Hypno.

When Munna and Musharna devour particularly nice dreams, they can actually recycle the energy of the dream and expel it in the form of a bright, pink mist, which is commonly referred to as Dream Mist. Unlike Munna, Musharna can fully process the both the psychic energy connecting a dreamer to their dream as well as the energy contained within the dream itself as a result of the improved psychic powers brought on by exposure to the radiant energy of a Moon Stone; as such, the Dream Smoke that is expelled from their bodies does not exactly contain a dream but merely the final piece to the entire puzzle: sleep itself. In simpler terms, this is referring to the electrical energy pattern of the dreamer while they are dreaming; in the form of Dream Mist (which changes color in the case of Musharna depending upon the emotional state of a devoured dream), this energy signature can effectively induce a similar state within the brains of organisms that smell it (in other words, it puts them to sleep). In addition to making the job of dream-eating easier for Musharna, this processed Dream Mist is also quite potent in that it can be eaten and absorbed only by Munna and other Musharna and is almost impossible to escape from unless a subject does not need to breathe to survive (such as in the case of some artificial Pokémon, in which case a Hypnosis technique will instead be used), though if they are spouting black mist, stay away from them as it can still mess with one's mind and make your worst nightmares come to life. More importantly, however, Musharna are unique in that they are able to remember every single dream they devour and are able to manipulate their own psychic powers so as to bring the dreams they have devoured into the real world, granting them a temporary physical form with highly-condensed Dream Mist. These illusions are not truly capable of delivering bodily harm to another, but their ability to frighten and distract others is nearly unparalleled in terms of complexity and is an exceptional sight to see on the battlefield. If worse comes to worse and their tricks do not work, though, Musharna are able to take considerable damage from most attacks in battle before experiencing pain and can often lull opponents into a false sense of security by appearing to be asleep...which they almost always are, being able to battle even in this state; waking them is noted to be a bad idea, though, as they can be extremely grumpy if they are disturbed after freshly waking up.

Despite their nonchalant appearances and relatively calm personalities, Musharna are potent beasts that can give trainers a difficult time if they are used to battling under fairly conventional terms. With relatively decent defensive and offensive stats and a list of tricks that is only limited by the imagination of others, it can certainly be said that Musharna are a force to be reckoned with without some assistance from Bug, Ghost or Dark-type Pokémon. Just remember to keep yourself and your Pokémon level-headed and don't fall for any of the otherwise life-like apparitions these beasts can conjure; they might be able to recreate Godzilla in full-scale, but that doesn't mean that you should automatically be afraid of being stomped on by a cloud of mist!

Musharna seems to look like it's always asleep. In fact, its sleeping animation actually makes it wide awake!
