Seaking (the Goldfish Pokémon) is a relatively uncommon Water-type Pokémon found within bodies of freshwater and saltwater across the world. Though generally ignored in favor of more powerful Water-types, Seaking are vibrant creatures that can still put up a decent fight in battle if trained properly. Trainers would be wise to stay away from the horns of these fish as much as possible; even if your Pokémon are well-armored and are on solid ground, there's no telling when they might get hit by an unexpected Horn Drill attack!

Although Seaking possess many of the same qualities that make Goldeen attractive to people, namely the billowing motion of their fins, they are far more dangerous to be around. Unlike the more carefree Goldeen, Seaking are somewhat territorial and do not like being pushed around; if even the slightest threat should appear before them, they will quickly take it down with powerful thrusts from their large horn. In addition to being larger and more powerful than Goldeen, Seaking are extremely adept at leaping out of the water with enough force to drive their horns straight through the body of an opponent; in the right circumstances, this can easily translate into a quick victory if a Horn Drill attack is used accurately or if they manage to strike with a powerful Poison Jab (which Goldeen are incapable of naturally learning) or Megahorn attack. However, Seaking are disadvantaged in that they still cannot survive for very long out of water, so an error in aiming or a blocked attack can put these creatures in serious jeopardy. Strangely enough, there are almost cult-like groups that have formed that admire either their horns or their fins, but not both; it seems that these two groups do not get along very well, preferring to focus either on their combat powers or their elegance, and it is not uncommon for enthusiasts to get into physical fights over the topic if conflicting views are present.

Like Goldeen, Seaking swim up rivers and waterfalls in search of a partner during mating season, often turning the water bright red in the process as their bodies are flushed with the brilliant color; they are different, however, in that Seaking mating season is in autumn and not spring and thus serve as poetic reminders of the arrival of the season. During mating season, male Seaking retain more fat within their bodies because it gives them a more brilliant color and thus makes them more appealing; furthermore, it helps in making them more attractive during their courtship dances on river floors, which they perform avidly in the hopes of drawing out females (with larger groups being attracted to those with the most graceful dance movements). Once they have finally secured a female partner, male Seaking use their Horn Drill attacks to gouge out large holes within underwater boulders and rock walls of any hardness; it is here that the female will lay her eggs, as the position prevents the eggs from easily being washed away. After the male fertilizes the eggs, the two wait patiently together for the eggs to hatch, which usually occurs in about a month or so; until then, the two take turns patrolling the area around their nest, fighting off any predators that come looking for the eggs. Since they are usually hidden from sight, though, few predators ever bother to look for Seaking eggs, preferring to go after the meatier adults instead; even then, predators have to be cautious in choosing which Seaking to attack, as the fattier males possess a nasty, oily taste until they lose their extra fat following the birth of their offspring.

Though they might only be suited for friendly battles and nothing truly hardcore, Seaking are agile creatures that can still pull off a good hat trick with their Horn Drill attack every once in a while. These creatures might be limited to the water like most other fish, but don't think that they won't come up on land just to deliver a quick jab. Even if you really want to get your girlfriend a great gift, you might want to think twice about getting the one you care for this creature in hopes of obtaining something better than a plain Goldeen; they might be even more beautiful, but don't think that makes you or your significant other any safer from their beastly attacks!

Seaking eggs? Don't you mean Goldeen eggs?
